1967 seems to have been a year full of turmoil for those who made their way to southeastern WI to race
Modifieds! Patenjim Enterprises seemingly got the boot from Wilmot at Mid season. There attempts to
run on Friday nights didn't impress the Fair Board. The Board took control back and moved the show to
Sat nights in direct competition with the Lake Geneva Speed Center.  It seems that some of the Geneva
regulars started heading to Wilmot during the back half of the season?? Rumor has it that the checks
used for the weekly pay out turned out to be nothing more than paper!
By the end of the season the 2 year old track at Lake Geneva seemed to be just about belly up!
Through all the postings no mention of the IRA comes up!

The Waukegan track had plenty of print about the 67 season. All seemed very smooth at that facility so with
limited space I only posted season ending articles. The Wilmot and Lake Geneva track were another story
however!  I still don't find anything about the Interstate Racing Association from these articles. Plenty of reason
for its creation does seem to be in order though!  You be the judge!
