I had the great pleasure of meeting another one of the IRA's founding members! Jimmy Hedges jumped into the Modified division just as the Association was forming. 1967 was his rookie season which lead to the start of a long run in the Super modified division.

Hey!! The former Dick Duston ride??
I also had the great pleasure of meeting another Hedges. Jim's son AJ was a huge IRA fan back when his Dad was drivin'. This young man gave up all the usual boy hood extra curricular activities because when the weekend came the Family went racin'. AJ doesn't regret it one bit and relishes the time spent racin with Dad! The only bad memory he had to share was the day in 1981 when Allen Winker pulled the #10 out of the Hedges drive way for the last time. It's tough watching your hero retire! AJ has a collection of 8mm film from the old track at Wilmot!!! He plans on sharing it with me so I can play it when I show Pop's car this summer! Can't wait!!
Fellow Kenosha resident Jim Uttech can be seen eyeing up the high groove
Here's Jimmy's first ride in 1967. Looks like it didn't take very long for this rookie to get it around the corner! Jim recalls purchasing this car from noneother than Jim" Super" Sullivan
Here's Jim wheeling the Randy Marescalco AMX! Randy built this car in 69 and had numerous drivers behind the wheel before letting Billy Bohn call it home.
Three wheelin' it with Ken Monroe runnin' high!
Here's Ron Bergsma handing out hardware to the Feature winner!!!
I remember someone telling me to "Drive it like your ass is on fire!" Somehow I don't think this is what they meant !!!
