Amazingly enough the old yellow shed with the big red dot still stands to this day! I restored Pops Roadster Super less than 300 yrds away!! Roger Otto parked a few of his rides in here as well. Can't magine Grumpy old Pop and Grumpy young Otto working out of the same shop!!

Thanks to Tim Barty for posting this color photo! It was the first time I got to see this car in color in Many years!!
Even going into his mid 60's Pop couldn't resist tugging at the wheel of a Modified! Were not sure where this next car came from, but have traced it to be a 58-60 C.A.E. Sprint Car. At the time this would have been a 10 yr old sprint chassis. Ken Monroe tells me that the IRA just about didn't let Pop run this car. It originally had Knock-off rims and the works! jack Biddison called it the "Indy Roadster Style Super Modified". It was definitly unique!! To bad Pop didn't have this car under him when he still had cat like reflexes!!!! Some how he still managed to win one here and there!!!!
Imagine how satisfiying the occassion checkered flag must have felt running against all those young guy's!!
The news paper clipping from above is the only picture I had of this car for going on 35 years!! Amazing what's out there if you just ask!! Thanks to all who have shared their stories and Photo's of Pop!! Click on the story to read about the Senior Citizen of The Supers!!
Here is a guy with a passion for racing!! In the early 60's Pop drug home his first race car. The story has it that he was just repairing these cars for other drivers! Gramma bought it until his name started showing up on the roof!! I beleive Pop ran a Ford Comet in the sportsman division for the 66 season before purchasing this car from Larry Bill in 67. The really sharp trivia guy's will tell you Claude Potter was the former driver of this car!!!
Here's Pop with his freshly painted pride and joy!! The 60 year old chose the #60!
