Randy built 3 cars that raced with the IRA from 69-73.  The first car was an AMX bodied car that first seated Al Alrikas. Other notables to
get some seat time in the car are Jim Hedges, Jim Sulivan and most notably Billy "The Bullet" Bohn.  This car only stayed in the
Marescalco stable for 3 years before it was time for something new and improved!

Board in the infield!
Looks like a pretty interesting first build!!
Here's "The Bullet" collecting some
hardware!

The last known owner of the AMX was
Dennis Roslanski.
The #20 would only see one season of racing. Near the end of the season in 72 McKay had her
cranked up leading the second of twin 50 features at Wilmot.  A lapper that slid out of the first
groove right in front of race leader McKay sent the #20 on terminal tumble. McKay walked away but
the car was a complete loss! Luckily Randy already had plans for a new build for the 73 season!
The most familar Marescalco car would have to be the #1 car.  Randy recalls alot of gigs from the
competition the first time they rolled the car in with the oversized roof wing and underslung nose
wing.  Things got mighty quiet when everyone found out that legendary driver Johnny Reimer left
Neilson Enterprizes for the new Marescalco ride.  "Johnny liked to win, and he knew we had the
horsepower to do it!" The car was no disapointment!!

The Marescalco crew decided to try their hand with CWRA Late Models after the 73
season.  Johnny got back together with Freddy Neilson for the 74 season and the car was
sold to Carmen Manzardo.
This is how the car was found in Twin
Lakes,WI last summer. It has returned
to it's builders hands and should be
just as impressive as it was in 73!
Rumor has it that JR will assist on the
resto. !!!!!!  Can't wait!!
Paul Kuyawa watched this car being
constructed from the ground up. A
quick look on top of the clutch lever
shows a Schwinn bike grip that capped
off the construction. Paul rode back
home that day minus 1 hand grip on
his bike.  He was probably the
proudest kid on the block for quite
some time!
Randy Marescalco and crew built this fine piece of racing
equipment that seated  Johnny Reimer pictured above!
Randy is standing at the right rear tire while Jim Wellman stands on
the left side. Jim was responsible for the power plant.

The next Marescalco Super was built for the 1972 season. This would be the year that put Marescalco on the map
so-to-speak! The #20 driven by Denny McKay was a well known fast timer! This car ruled qualifing at Wilmot in 72 but had
difficulty bringing home the checkered flag. Even so, the quickness of the car during qualifying was an eyeopener to the big
dollar teams.  McKay set a qualifying record at Blue Island that landed him in the Guiness Book of World Records!
This Car set the fastest 1/4 qualifying mark ON EARTH!!  Randy credits his partner Jim Wellman for a large part of their
success during this time.  "Nobody had the horsepower we had!"   Sombody was gettin it transfered to the ground though!
Looks like 5 Feature wins to me!
The team would finish the season with
17 features!!!!!
